Biography

"The Rizdales are what the Grand Ole Opry should be playing, and indeed once did" - Exclaim Magazine, Toronto

Led by husband and wife songwriting team Tom and Tara Dunphy, the Rizdales have been playing their unique brand of hard core honky tonk music since 2003.   With 6 critically acclaimed albums under their belt, including 2014's standout "Blue Ain't The Word: A Tribute to the Music of Ray Price", The Rizdales have forged their own path in the world of country music.

Their songs carry a truth that is reminiscent of the classic country era, tales of liquor, loneliness, heartbreak and humour and while they honour their influences, The Rizdales have created their own style and fresh sound.

"Mainstream Nashville country has likely never been as mind-numbingly banal as now. That is why we desperately need records like this one..." - Exclaim Magazine

"This is tough country music, with a great big heart, respect for tradition and a huge dollop of whiskey and irreverence.  And none of the crap posturing that so many half-hearted attempts at this style usually come with." - Americana-UK, Liverpool England

"The Rizdales have always been a favourite of mine, since they first time they came to Austin and sat in with me and my band at Ginny's Little Longhorn.  I know they'll become a favourite of yours too!" - Dale Watson
